The training for new council members of the Nerima Ward Council has started. Everyone toured the council chairman’s office, committee rooms, library and reference room, the audience room, and the main council chambers. Incidentally, I should mention that the corridor outside was lined with photos of long-serving councilors, all of whom were men.
In Nerima Ward, no computers, tablets, or cell phones are allowed in the plenary halls and committee rooms. What? You can’t bring your own computer? We newcomers were all stunned. In addition, drinks are not allowed in the plenary hall. Isn’t that an infringement on our bodily rights? I wish they would at least let us drink water freely.
We would like to change these areas as well.
